Freyssinet New Zealand are looking for a Civil Site Supervisor to join their Civil Division based in Auckland. Reporting to the Project Engineer you will be accountable for management of labour, plant, materials & subcontractors on site to ensure zero harm, zero defects and on time delivery. This position has supervisory accountabilities for team and subcontractor performance.

The ideal applicant will come with/from a background of

Supervisory experience on a bridge project
Demonstrable Multi-strand post tensioning experience
Flexibility to working New Zealand wide

This position will require a willingness to work away from home in some circumstances (Living away from home allowances & reimbursements provided) as our projects are located all around New Zealand.

Primary Accountabilities

Lead by example and ensure safety culture and the consistent adoption of safe work procedures
Develop and implement QSE plans and work procedures with Project Engineer
Apply construction experience to improve construction methods and adopt methods and approaches to ensure the job gets done safely and efficiently
Supervise and manage site works, helping the site team to solve problems and manage day to day operational risks
Manage and train site team, ensuring the team has the right people with the right skills and attitude
Manage and supervise team performance to safety, quality, and environmental standards
Monitor site productivities and report to the Project Engineer
Identify variations and delays, and promptly report to the Project Engineer
Conduct safety pre-starts and inspections
Manage safety incidences immediately in conjunction with Project Engineer.

Qualifications / Experience

At least 5 years’ experience as a supervisor or equivalent within the civil construction industry and with demonstrable experience in post tensioning and bridge construction works
High level of organizational skills
Willingness to be a working supervisor and stay on the tools
Solid understanding of safety guidelines and regulations as they relate to construction projects
Clean full driver’s license
