QSE Manager - Switzerland F/H


CARPI TECH (150 employees), a subsidiary of Freyssinet has wide expertise in waterproofing of hydraulic structures. For our Head Quarter based in Switzerland we look for a QSE Manager (under a local employment contract). The main role is the co-ordination, management, and monitoring of the QSE resources and programs within the BUs to achieve the QSE targets and objectives in accordance with the Freyssinet/Carpi policy. This will be achieved by the alignment of the BU management teams in understanding the expectations and how they will be delivered. The role will require effective servant leadership and teamwork with all management and QSE personnel in the zone.
The QSE manager also supports the Freyssinet security director in the implementation of security programs, the reporting tasks, and the dissemination of information. Reporting to the Zone Director and functionally to the QSE Group Director, your main tasks are :

·         Ensures adequate staffing and training of the QSE resources to support all QSE requirements and reviews and monitors the performance of the QSE teams.
Assistance and planning
·         Provides expertise and assistance to the zone manager and to the sub-zone/BU managers to assess risk, defines action plans and improve the management of safety, environment, and quality.
·         Detects and assesses latent risks in the zone.
·         Challenges the BU QSE action plans, targets, and objectives.
·         Develops a QSE training plan and monitors the progress in the zone.
·         Encourages and promotes a positive safety culture throughout the BUs.
·         In cooperation with the ecoleaders, disseminates environmental challenges, objectives and solutions to boost the interest and involvement of managers and employees.
.           Builds and promotes the environmental policy and communication plan of the company, in particular, the analysis of carbon footprint of the solutions proposed by Carpi
·         Supports the BUs in the implementation of carbon footprint reduction programs and the promotion of alternative low carbon offers at tender stage.

Monitoring and control
·         Monitors all BUs’ QSE performance in the zone.
·         Reviews BUs’ action plans implementation and progress.
·         Identifies and analyzes any major deviation, dysfunction, and events, which he reports to the zone manager and to the group QSE department.
·         Monitors international and local safety, health and environmental legislation and ensures BUs compliance.
·         Ensures that all QSE statistics are properly collated and reported in due time.
·         Investigates, analyzes, and implements the required control measures of any serious accident, incident or near miss that has high potential serious consequences and communicates the findings throughout the zone.
·         Audits the BUs to ensure their compliance in regard to the CARPI QSE policy and internal standards, and local legal requirements. 

Civil engineer and/or master’s degree in occupational health & safety, industrial safety and/or QSE graduate.

·         10 years in occupational health & safety, industrial safety and/or QSE.

·         Proven experience in the construction sector in international environment, preferably a decentralized corporate organization.

·         Team building/management

·         QSE Management Systems – ISO 45001 (health & safety) – ISO 9001 (quality) – ISO 14001 (environment) – ISO 14025 (environmental declaration)

·         Life-cycle assessment

·         Project management

Fluent in English is required.

Leadership, good relational, analysis and synthesis aptitudes and Solution oriented are essential to success in this job position.
