Project Engineer
08/09/2023With a strong pipeline of Major infrastructure projects lined up we are currently looking for a Project Engineer for our NSW - Remedial Division.
This position will predominately see you looking after our projects across the Sydney Metropolitan Area and is a great opportunity for a Snr Project Engineer looking to step into a Jnr Project Manager position.
This is a brand-new position looking for somebody coming from a background of:
Remedial projects exposure (Concrete, Steel and/or coating repair works on Civil / Marine infrastructure projects in Australia) Is adventurous but not essential
At least 5 years experience as a Site Engineer / Project Engineer working on Civil repair / remediation project (or similar)
Strong subcontract management experience
As a Project Engineer you will be accountable for managing allocated projects to ensure zero harm, quality, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction and profitability. This position will be directing the performance of work, resources and activities on site and will report to the Construction Manager.
Primary Accountabilities:
The development, review and management of projects, encompassing all elements of project delivery including OH&S, Quality & Environment, Cost control and client/consultant relationships
Proactive site leadership and management of safety performance, standards and risk.
Quality management on day to day basis as well as development of quality procedures according to the specification of the project and Australian Standards, implementation on site, design review and updates
Provide technical advice with problem-solving skills.
Establish and maintain project cost control, inclusive of a focus on labour utilization and efficiency.
Build effective relationships with clients and manage day to day interactions.
Accurate preparation of various monthly reporting, progress claims and sub-contractor statement.
Procurement and management of sub-contractors and material suppliers.
Administration of contracts, management of commercial risk in accordance with the DOA.
Qualifications / Experience:
Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
Minimum 3-5 years’ Snr / Project Engineer experience in the civil/construction industry
Remedial or Concrete/ Steel repair & re-strengthening experience (Preferred)
Experience in one or more of the following areas: Structural, Marine, Facades, Concrete, Blast & Paint (advantageous)
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite programs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
