Corrsion Engineer
08/09/2023Freyssinet Australia is offering a unique opportunity for an exceptionally skilled and experienced Corrosion Engineer to join our Remedial Engineering business unit in Perth. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting projects across WA across Corrosion/Durability/Coatings/Condition Assessments.
As a Technical Engineer for the WA Remedial Division, you will be involved in the planning and delivery of complex remedial solutions and building assessments. You will also focus on specialist repair activities in the areas of cathodic protection and concrete-repair of existing structures
You will be joining a team of dedicated professionals based on the eastern states who are passionate about all things remedial and strive to deliver innovative solutions and successful outcomes for Freyssinet clients. As the WA Corrosion Engineer, you will be starting up the technical division in Perth with the support from the eastern states.
Primary accountabilities:
The development, review, and management of project plans
Assess and create detailed building condition reports
Provide technical advice with problem-solving skills
Preparation of QSE documents
Installation, commissioning, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of impressed current and sacrificial anode cathodic protection systems for steel and concrete structures.
Undertake CP surveys on pipelines, underground storage tanks, water reservoirs, wharves, bridges, chiller units and boats.
Corrosion & Cathodic Protection of existing structures applying specialised techniques operating specialised equipment.
Installation, commissioning, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of impressed current and sacrificial anode cathodic protection systems for steel and concrete structures.
Must have practical skills and be able to saw-cut and drill to install anodes and other connections, and to get on the tools if required.
Business development, preparing tenders and resourcing.
Qualifications:
Construction Industry Induction Card
Corrosion Technician with Australian Corrosion Association Accreditation
Degree in Engineering or Materials Science
Skills & Experience:
Experience with or exposure to Cathodic Protection
Experience with or exposure to NACE/ACA Corrosion Standards
Minimum of 5 years experience in Project Engineering
