Business Controller
31/01/2023The Business Controller reports to the Financial Controller and is responsible for managing all Financial aspects of the West Calgary Project $277M. Key functions include Month end closing process, forecast, Account Payable, Invoicing.
He will also be a key member of potential company integration group. Following Due Diligence, will perform Audit, inventory, target procedures. Review the target Financial processes and put them align with the Vinci group one’s.
Joint Venture Project
Managing all financial aspect of the Joint Venture Project in Calgary
Provide support to executives of the project
Part of the Commercial team , work closely with Commercial Manager but also with all member of the project
Prepares reporting for budget and forecasting with periodic updates;
Support month end activities including preparing / reviewing monthly and quarterly financial reporting;
Assist with external audit process including liaise with auditors, prepare and review working papers for auditors;
External Growth Acquisition
Part of the team , will be in charge of all financial aspect on the integration project
Participate at different financial audit
Work with Target Finance team , to help them understanding Group process, deadline.
Work with the Finance team, CFO and accounting team to coordinate the new Group IT system implementation
Carmacks Group finance responsibilities
Responds to all inquiries from senior management.
Provides analysis.
Ensures that group management decisions are respected and applied.
Assess, support and advise senior managers.
Develops, recommends and implements general accounting.
Other duties as assigned.
Professional designation (CPA) not Necessary
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in reporting in a multi divisional organization, preferably with experience in the construction industry
Adeptness in building and implementing reporting systems to meet reporting requirements
The ability to assimilate the culture of the business quickly and work effectively in an environment that will require adaptation and change to meet new reporting requirements
Desire to work with a team to make system improvements
Strong MS Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables etc.)
French language skills would be an asset, but not required
A combination of education and experience will be considered
