Trainee Characterisation Consultant
27/10/2022The Land Remediation and Characterisation team specialise in the deployment and operation of mobile gamma spectrometry systems to various nuclear and non-nuclear sites throughout the UK and abroad. In addition, we provide higher level consultancy on various aspects of the waste management lifecycle and land quality.
Main Duties:
· Transport and operation of gamma spectrometry systems in support of decommissioning and remediation programmes of work
· Writing technical reports on works undertaken for various customers
· Data checking to ensure good quality results are supplied to customers
Required Technical Competence
· Knowledge of radioactivity
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Essential
Science A levels or Degree (BSc, MSc, PhD) in a scientific discipline
Driving licence
Good written and oral communication skills
Keen to learn on the job
Willing to travel
Good attention to detail
Desirable
Experience or knowledge of gamma spectrometry – high and/or low resolution
Good technical report writing skills
Commercially aware
