To Test and document a range of bespoke control panels and components; host factory acceptance tests with clients and diagnose any problem that might arise with a control panel. Assisting with engineering, commissioning and building of control systems.
Accurately read and interpret electrical drawings and instructions, both written and verbal (from the supervisor and other team members), to assemble components and build and wire panels within specified timescales.
Carry out testing and inspection on finished control panels both on the shop floor and at customer premises in line with approved standards and customer requirements.
Adhere to and always maintain safe working practices.
Be able to send a panel to site with 100% confidence that it fits within specification and functions as stated.
Preform and host Factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests in the presents of end customers
Adhere to and actively improve (through feedback to the supervisor) quality control processes and test procedures.
Travel to customer sites to support installation, as and when required.
To provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
Previous control systems experience essential
Previous experience of interpreting electrical drawings and technical instructions.
Positive "can do" attitude. With good attention to detail.
Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills. With the ability to flexibly and proactively manage changing priorities and work to tight timescales.
Ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively on own initiative as well as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communications skills must be able to communicate at all levels.
Willing to learn about new systems and move with technology as it progresses
Understanding about generator control and the tests required for generator control panels will be beneficial
Programming controllers such as PLC’s and transducers or understanding the operation of a controller will also be beneficial
