The Role

The position of Civil Senior Estimator is accountable for estimating, tender preparation and submission including methodology, preliminary program and completion of other relevant documentation. The primary success factor is to establish business opportunities and secure building works for the company, while providing estimating and commercial administration services related to building works.


Key Deliverables

  • Initial assessment of tenders received to determine the size and scope of the project. Source all additional information as required from the client
  • Preparation of tender estimates using a combination of first principle methods, material take offs, bill of quantities, cost studies, existing productivity rates and similar tender submissions.
  • Liaise with and attend site meetings with clients during tender stage to determine all necessary requirements to prepare tender estimates and submissions, as determined by manager.
  • Preparation of proposed methodology (in collaboration with BD,technical team & Operations), proposed construction program and all other relevant documentation necessary for the tender submission
  • Timely project follow-up after the submission of tenders and associated record keeping determining current status of projects, including liaison with colleagues to ensure comprehensive and accurate information is maintained
  • Comply with and improve Quality Assurance procedures related to tendering for work and tender review as well as ensuring Data Control Quality Assurance procedures are completed in accordance with the Quality Manual
  • Attend and manage hand over meeting with construction personnel including the preparation of handover documents and job folder.
  • Secure projects with good quality and competitively priced tender documents.


Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering or Construction.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within the specialized civil works or Construction industry
  • Experience in Bridge construction methodology , Post tensioning works or Heavy lifting works
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with numerous stakeholders
