Project Manager

27/11/2024

We are a successful civil contracting business who has been operating in Australia for over 35 years. With the agility and personal connection of a Tier 2, yet the expertise of a Tier 1, and now the enhanced resources of one of the largest, world-class construction companies, VINCI, our employees and clients get the best of three worlds.

Seymour Whyte is on the verge of an exciting milestone: securing our first project in Adelaide. As we prepare for this next chapter, we’re seeking an experienced Project Manager with Bid Management expertise to join our team. This is a rare opportunity to be part of our pre-contracts team, driving tenders and EOIs to success, and then stepping into a pivotal role on-site to deliver the project.

With over 35 years of proven success across Australia and the backing of our global parent company, VINCI, this role offers the chance to shape not only your career but also the future of infrastructure in South Australia.

About the role:

Bid Management – representing Seymour Whyte in all EOI and tender activities

  • Ensure detailed knowledge of EOIs and tenders are communicated to the team.
  • Oversee and support the coordination of the bid and review of tender deliverables.
  • Lead progress meetings with the Client and with the team.
  • Participate in the review of the estimate.
  • Provide strategic guidance and champion competitive advantage for the bid.
  • Ensure design, methodology, program, and estimate are fully aligned and integrated into the tender submission.
  • Manage and integrate our commercial and contractual response into the submission.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from the tender stage to delivery through effective transfer of knowledge.

Project Management

  • Ensure the bid budget is established and reported against.
  • Report back on the progress of the bid to Regional Managers or Leadership Teams.
  • Participate in discussions with relevant authorities, stakeholders, clients and other third parties.
  • Stakeholder engagement with relevant authorities, clients and other third parties.
  • Manage innovation throughout the tender phase to deliver better outcomes for the client.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years post-graduate experience.
  • Experience in leading teams.
  • Ability to develop and implement budgets and forecasts.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiating skills and business process improvement skills.
  • Forward-looking, self-motivated and solutions-focused approach.

We have a range of additional benefits available for our employees:

  • Health & Wellbeing – discounted health insurance, seasonal vaccinations, wellness discounts, fertility benefit and employee assistance program (EAP).
  • Time for life / Work life balance – birthday leave, purchased leave program, paid parental leave and flexible work arrangements.
  • Financial wellbeing – competitive remuneration, annual performance bonuses, salary continuance insurance and employee share program.
  • Career development – training, mentoring programs, and leadership development program.

Many of our projects are located in regional areas, therefore all applicants must hold a current Driver’s License and have their own transport.

Seymour Whyte is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds, including veterans. Our commitment to an equitable construction industry extends to an inclusive culture that embraces our differences and gives everyone the opportunity to grow and be equally valued. We're unified in our direction toward having a workplace that is balanced and fair for all.
