Inter Array Cable Transportation & Installation Manager
INTER ARRAY CABLE (IAC) INSTALLATION MANAGER required by our Client in the Renewable Sector on a contract basis, to be based in Bridgeport, CT (preferred) or Boston, MA.
POSITION SCOPE
We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented IAC Installation Manager to oversee the technical activities and supervision related to the Transportation and Installation (T&I) of IACs for our offshore wind project.
You will play a key role in developing key documents, supporting the procurement process, managing contractors, and coordinating offshore installation works. You will report to the IAC Package Manager and collaborate closely with the project team.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Engineering:
Develop and implement T&I engineering plans and manage necessary resources.
Lead the development and implementation of the Installation Management Plan.
Oversee FEED works including preliminary cable route design, CBRA, interface engineering, and seabed management plan.
Manage and approve contractor's installation engineering activities.
Define the work package survey strategy and manage all required surveys.
Prepare T&I elements for consent documents.
Develop a cable replacement/repair strategy and methodology.
Manage the CVA approval process for Cable System and T&I.
Procurement:
Assess technical compliance of bids, including preparing technical documentation for ITT and EPCI packages.
Evaluate T&I solutions for compliance with consents and program of work.
Analyze weather and vessel details, conduct trenching risk assessments, and prepare ITEO with reviewers.
Project Management:
Support implementation and maintenance of the IAC Project Execution Plan.
Provide input into Cable System Risk Management plan.
Develop and manage resourcing plans for offshore management and employer representatives.
Coordinate package-specific interface tasks for installation.
Installation:
Review, approve, and manage changes to contractor's procedures and studies.
Liaise and manage the Marine Warranty Surveyor.
Manage and coordinate daily offshore works.
Implement and monitor the Vessel Assurance process.
Approve as-installed records and monitor progress against program.
Support the quality manager with T&I-related Non-Conformance Reports.
Manage EPCI contractor's T&I works and deliverables.
Consents:
Coordinate the preparation of package consent deliverables.
Provide technical assistance to the consenting team for meeting project consent conditions.
Knowledge Transfer:
Share lessons learned from and to other projects.
Other:
Willingness to travel up to 15%, including some international travel.
Willingness to go offshore for up to 2 weeks during IAC installation.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
5+ years of proven experience as a Project Engineer / Installation Manager / Installation Engineer or similar role. Proven experience in T&I of offshore cables.
Strong technical background in offshore cable installation.
Keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.
Outstanding communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Proficient in MS Office.
- In-depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant project standards.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI (Desirable).
