Assitant Ground Investigation Driller

We have a number of exciting opportunities to join a growing and progressive ground investigation and grouting contractor, on sites throughout the UK.

We are looking for motivated, hardworking Assistant Drillers with good communication skills.

The role will support our site investigation projects across the UK. If you enjoy practical, hands-on work outdoors and want to develop a career in drilling and geotechnics, this could be the role for you.

This is a full-time, permanent position that will require travel. You will work outdoors in all weathers, and must have a willingness to learn and pride in your work.

Projects range from single-day jobs to multi-week/month schemes across infrastructure, industrial and energy sites.

The role will:

  • Help set up and operate drilling rigs and equipment
  • Support the safe and efficient operation of drilling rigs and specialist equipment
  • Carry out routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
  • Assist with mobilisation of plant and equipment
  • Assist with installing monitoring equipment (e.g. piezometers, standpipes).
  • Work closely with Site Engineers, Project Managers and team members to deliver projects on schedule
  • Work safely on site, following all health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety and compliance at all times

You’ll need to have a CSCS or PTS qualification, along with a full UK driving licence, and be able to work to a defined health and safety management system with an understanding of what is required from yourself and other colleagues.

Previous experience of working on Ground Investigation sites is preferred.

Please be aware that due to the nature of the role, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing on day one of employment, and on an ad hoc basis thereafter.

Candidates should be prepared for a variety of workloads from general routine jobs to task that carry out responsibility.

We require candidates to have good planning and and organisation skills, problem solving skills, ability to use their own initiative, good knowledge, attention to deal, excellent communication skills, a professional approach and good customer-service focus.
