Help Deliver Critical Infrastructure Across the South Island

At HEB Construction, part of VINCI Construction, we deliver complex civil infrastructure projects that help shape the communities we live and work in. From roads and bridges to water, marine and major transport projects, our teams tackle some of New Zealand's most challenging construction projects.

We're seeking an experienced Project Planner to join our team in Invercargill, supporting the planning, programming and successful delivery of major civil infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably through industry-leading planning and controls practices. 

The Opportunity

As a Project Planner, you'll be responsible for developing, maintaining and optimising detailed project programmes that support both tendering and project delivery. Working closely with operational, engineering and commercial teams, you'll help identify opportunities, manage risks and provide the critical project insights that drive successful outcomes. 

• Developing integrated construction programmes from first principles
• Creating detailed schedules covering design, procurement, consenting and construction activities
• Performing critical path analysis and identifying opportunities to improve project delivery
• Monitoring project progress and updating programmes throughout delivery
• Working with project teams to identify and mitigate programme risks
• Undertaking earned value analysis, forecasting and progress reporting
• Producing cashflow forecasts, resource histograms and project performance reports
• Supporting tender submissions with robust and competitive construction programmes
• Collaborating with engineers, project managers, clients and stakeholders to achieve project objectives 

About You

You'll be an experienced planner with a strong understanding of civil construction methodologies, sequencing and project controls.

You'll also bring:

• Significant experience developing programmes for civil infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, staging and project delivery methodologies
• Proven experience using planning and scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or similar
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability to communicate technical information clearly to a range of stakeholders
• Experience working across tender and delivery environments
• A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent industry experience
