The Confederation Line Extension Project - one of the components of the City of Ottawa Stage 2 O-Train system – includes the design, construction, and financing of 27,5kilometres of light rail infrastructure. The scope of work also includes 4 kilometers of cut-and cover tunnels, 20 engineered structures, 16 stations and a light maintenance service facility.

Principal responsibility: Follow the on-site meetings and organize the coordination of the works with the subcontractors and the other entities of the project. Be the main presence on-site and be the first point of contact of the subcontractors (daily report, claims, etc.).

Tasks description: Coordinate the activities for two major systems subcontractors installing the traction power systems, communications-based train control system, and overhead catenary system.

• Attend project safety meetings;
• Review the organization, methods, and equipment of subcontractor for the execution of the project;
• Ensure all work is performed safely. Conducts basic safety inspections, identifies, and corrects safety hazards, and leads by example in safety practices by implementing the project safety plan;
• Assists in monitoring the quality plan, including conducting quality inspections;
• Check and verify the subcontractor's daily report;
• Review, interpret, and update the construction schedule. Ensure accurate progress of the project construction schedule and support updates to planned dates and sequencing;
• Participate in the weekly meeting with the subcontractors;
• Help resolve engineering issues encountered by the subcontractors with the engineering team.

Education and Experience:
- Fluent in English;
- Organized, and rigorous;
- Strong interest for the construction systems;
- Be able to communicate efficiently.

Pour être éligible aux VIE vous devez être:

• Citoyen européen âgé de 18 à 28 ans à la date d'inscription, quel que soit le niveau de formation ;
• Un étudiant diplômé, avec un niveau courant en anglais ;
• Ne pas avoir déjà fait de V.I.E. ;
• Ne pas avoir travaillé précédemment dans le pays d'accueil.
