Senior Project Engineer
14/5/2026Join Seymour Whyte for the Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) Upgrade Project, a major civil infrastructure project being delivered as a joint venture with John Holland and focused on enhancing the rail transport network between Beerburrum and Nambour on the Sunshine Coast. Once completed, B2N will improve the North Coast Line, making travel faster and better connecting the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay and Brisbane.
KEY DATES AND DURATION:
- Following enabling and early works, major construction works have commenced.
- The main construction phase is expected to last around two to three years, with completion scheduled for late 2027 (subject to conditions).
WHAT THE PROJECT INVOLVES:
- Rail Duplication: The core of the project is the delivery of a new, dual-track rail line between Beerburrum and Nambour.
- Infrastructure Upgrades: This will also involve associated infrastructure improvements, potentially including the construction of new stations and upgrading existing ones.
- Community Benefits: The upgrade aims to improve public transport connectivity for the growing Sunshine Coast region and support the growing population by providing more travel options and diverting traffic.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer with strong expertise in Combined Services Route (CSR) to oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of integrated corridor services, including drainage, utilities and service relocations within rail infrastructure projects. You will ensure all CSR works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest network and engineering standards.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading the delivery of CSR design and construction, including drainage, utilities and service relocations.
- Reviewing designs and specifications to ensure compliance with network standards and utility requirements.
- Supervising on-site works with subcontractors, service authorities and multidisciplinary teams.
- Monitoring quality, safety and environmental compliance across all CSR activities.
- Preparing progress reports and maintaining accurate project and services documentation.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO CAN DEMONSTRATE:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
- Proven experience on rail infrastructure projects, including Combined Services Route (CSR) works (e.g. drainage, utilities coordination, service relocations and corridor services integration) within a contractor delivery model.
- Strong knowledge of integrated corridor systems, utilities interfaces, drainage installation, network standards, materials, safety and safeworking procedures.
- Knowledge of safety legislation, Australian Standards and industry codes.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Commitment to quality, safety and environmental practices.
Many of our projects are located in regional areas, therefore all applicants must hold a current Driver’s Licence and have their own transport.
