Role: Automation Support Engineer (South)

Location: Waterlooville office

Hours: 37,5hrs per week + overtime + call out fee

Salary Range: £40,000 - £45,000 (Dependent on experience)

About the role:

Due to business growth and client demand, Actemium Automation are seeking an experienced Support Engineer to join our growing team.

You will be providing automation support to our existing UK customer base and supporting on control system issues using PLC, HMI, SCADA systems. Predominantly based out of our Waterlooville office, we are looking for someone who is skilled at seeing a problem and fixing it, this can range from breakdowns to installation and commissioning.

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing automation support and maintaining the integrity of the automation systems, supporting and assisting customers during system breakdowns.
• Carry out fault finding in automation systems, predominantly by following logic to find out why the system is not operating as the client expects.
• Carry out planned modification, work with client to define changes required, then implement changes in clients systems.
• Carry out system health checks on PLC / HMI / SCADA and network systems.
• Provide support to customers both remotely and on their premises.
• Being part of a call out rota for out of hours calls, the rota is agreed between the team to fit around non-work commitments.

The Person:

• Worked within a similar role using PLC programming and high-level fault finding
• Confident in working in several different brands of PLC/HMI/SCADA, and ability to learn how to carry out fault finding tasks within different systems
• Able to understand the customers problem, asking questions to gain an understanding of the issue and methodically resolve.
