Supply & Expediting Engineer
SUPPLY & EXPEDITING ENGINEER is required by our Client, within the Renewables industry, to be assigned on a Contract basis, located in Boston, MA
POSITION SCOPE
The Supply & Expediting Engineer role within the Offshore Business focuses on managing the delivery of various supplies, including export cables, inter-array cables, main electrical equipment, substations, and wind turbine generators (WTGs). This position involves monitoring purchase orders and manufacturing processes, liaising with package managers and contractors to protect Company's interests. Key responsibilities include tracking deadlines, identifying bottlenecks, and ensuring timely delivery of equipment and materials with proper documentation. Reporting to the Expediting Lead Manager in the Construction Department, the engineer will support the New England Wind project during the Pre-FID and Execution phases, contributing to strategies and progress. The role may require frequent travel for global activities across Europe, the US, and other regions, including involvement in small-scale fabrication.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assistance in the integration of the Free Issue Equipment (FIE’s) within the different Offshore packages and designs, including co-ordination, planning and all supplies and FIE logistics, certifications of approval require during the manufacturing phase of the Project.
- Lead the expediting service during the execution phases, where the Supply and Expediting Manager shall have a comprehensive support along the entire supply chain, supporting in the supplier’s selection including follow up on major project milestones and deadlines.
- Monitor the manufacturing progress, time schedules, supplier workload, and identifying areas of concern. Expediting service will carry out manufacturer’s inspections and assess the production plans and capacity.
- Progress reporting, verification of contractual conditions and actual project status which are being plan and reported accordingly to execution managers.
- Field expediting, to carry out inspection on field, project support on manufacturing issues and expeditor review of actual order status.
- Desk expediting, and Offsite monitoring of order progress at specific milestone points.
- Plan and report all Expediting visits according to Package/Expediting manager instructions.
- Control of the manufacturing status of the different components at factories in relation to the production plans, evaluating critical points which could affect the production and consequently the delivery times of the project.
- Monitor and expedite the Purchase Orders for the component of the key suppliers.
- Collect all information requested and update the tracker files of the supplies.
- Verification and control of freight forwarders and transport companies. Manage the communications with project forwarder.
- Monitoring and supporting the package for any Transport issues (revision transport plan, transport follow-ups, permits).
- Attend any Inspection or meeting of different OWF packages.
- Control of the fulfilment of the equipment packaging and sea fastening process according to the applicable procedure.
- Manage the site Interface with Marine Warranty Surveyors and issue the Shipping release on behalf of the employer, as required.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree or relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical/Electrical/Marine Engineering or Naval Architectural or Renewables.
- Working knowledge of maritime requirements.
- Experience in renewable business, and/ or Power Infrastructures.
- Experience in monitoring and delivering manufacturing and Logistic works.
- Experience in Supply/ Transport Contracts.
- Five (5) years of professional experience in similar positions.
- Wiliness to travel as necessary with occasional overseas travel.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and cultural awareness.
- Offshore experience preferred.
