Qualification and Minimum Experience:

• ITI in Electrical Engineering with 7 Years Experience in Maintenance Field or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 5 Years Experience in Maintenance Field.

o Posses EWA Wireman License

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have experience in the Petrochemical/Oil & Gas Industry with specific experience in working around "live" Process Units and "in service" Plants/Product pipelines Offshore or Onshore locations.

a. Technician must be able to speak and accept instructions in either English or Arabic.

b. Trade Test: Trade Test shall be conducted to verify that the Technician possesses acceptable level of knowledge and skill as below:

KNOWLEDGE OF HSE REQUIREMENTS

Must be familiar with the provisions of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Policy and all relevant Standards in the following:

a. Work and Fire Permits. Safe access to Electrical Equipment- Electrical Isolation, Lock-out tag-out and testing.

b. Smoking Regulations.

c. Personnel Protective safety items, i.e., hats, goggles, gloves, shoes, FRC etc.

d. Safe handling of acids/Chemicals.

e. Use of gas detection devices, Self- Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and other safety equipment.

f. Attend Safety/Toolbox Meeting or participate in accident investigations.

g. Identify Confined Space, hazards of chemicals etc.

h. Knowledge of Dealing with emergencies in the absence of any assistance when needed at work sites.

i. Identify potential hazards at work site, assess risk and follow actions as per risk management plan.

Knowledge of Specific Requirements :-

a. Knowledge of EWA Regulations for Electrical Installations, BS, IEC and lEE regulations covering electrical materials, apparatus and installations.

b. Knowledge and skill to readd and understand power, control and protection circuitry including standard electrical symbols/nomenclature, conductor sizes and overcurrent protection for given loads.

c. Knowledge of different voltage systems used for power distribution in the Industry.

d. Knowledge of Cable installation - spacing, supports, bending radii, etc.

e. Wiring -conduit and trunking fill, maximum permissible circuits, permissible volt drops, etc.

f. Demonstrate ability to isolate simple faults using standard test equipment.

g. Possess knowledge and skill in lighting that includes: -

1. Types of LED and filament lamps, fluorescent tubes, mercury and sodium vapor lamps.

2. Installation, assembly, connection of Lighting Panel Boards and repair of all types of lighting systems.

h. Possess knowledge and skill in conduit installation that includes: -

1. Familiarity with EWA Regulations for Electrical Installations, BS, IEC and lEE regulations covering conduit installations such as conduit fills, supports, bends, pull boxes.

2. Types and sizes of conduit and associated fittings.

3. Ability to install conduit up to 3-inch diameter using hand dies or power machines for screwing and bending.

i. Possess knowledge and skill in domestic and industrial wiring that includes:

1. Familiarity with EWA Regulations for Electrical Installations, BS, IEC and lEE regulations applicable to wiring. Installation of wiring in hazardous and non-hazardous areas.

2. Jointing of single and multicore wiring by solder or crimping jointing kits.

3. Installation of grounding systems including grounding resistance measurements.

4. Glanding and termination of armored cables.

5. Testing of cabling and wiring prior to energizing.

j. Possess the knowledge and skill in the maintenance of motors, starters and generators:

1. Operating of single and three phase motors and generators and Connection.

2. Dismantling, checking, overhaul and assembly of motor starters.

3. Connection of line starters, Drives and push buttons.

4. Replacing carbon brushes on motors and generators.

5. Testing winding on single or three phase motors and generators for insulation and balance.

6. Possess knowledge and skill in the application, installation and maintenance of explosion proof equipment used in hazardous locations.

k. Possess knowledge to troubleshoot faults like Over currents, Short Circuits, Earth faults.

l. Possess knowledge and skill in the use of measurement and test equipment namely:

1. Digital and Analogue Multimeters for voltage, current, Power, Energy and resistance.

2. Megger for testing insulation up to 500V.

3. Earth loop tester and Clip on ammeter.

m. Possess knowledge and skill in basic electronics that includes:

1. Checking of Diodes and Rectifiers.

2. Functional check on UPS and Chargers.

n. Possess knowledge and skill in the commissioning and maintenance of transformers like:

1. Installation and connection of single and three phase transformers, variacs, rheostats, autotransformers and regulators.

2. Maintenance of transformer breathers and Bucholtz relays.

3. Performing oil breakdown tests.
