Committed to innovation and excellence, we are seeking a dynamic Head of Communications & Marketing to lead our brand and communications strategy, ensuring alignment with our business goals and enhancing our market presence. 

Location: Birmingham (next to Birmingham International Airport)

Reports To: VINCI Energies UK & RoI Head of Communications & Marketing. Dotted line to the two Actemium Perimeter Directors.

Role Overview: 

As the Actemium UK Head of Communications & Marketing, you will be responsible for developing and executing an integrated communications and marketing strategy. You will manage all digital and traditional channels, safeguard brand integrity, oversee internal communications, and manage a small team to deliver impactful campaigns. This role demands a hands-on, resourceful leader with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organisation and establish the department as a trusted centre of expertise. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategy Development: 

  • Design and implement a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy aligned with business objectives. 
  • Drive growth and visibility in target markets while ensuring consistency in brand messaging and image.
  • Support our business units with their individual communications & marketing strategies. 

2. Digital Media Management:

  • Oversee the company's digital presence, including websites, social media platforms, and online campaigns. 
  • Ensure engaging, high-quality, and consistent content tailored to diverse audiences.

3. Brand Guardianship:

  • Act as the brand champion, ensuring consistency in all visual and verbal communications. 
  • Lead initiatives such as rebranding and brand refinement projects as needed. 

4. Internal Communications: 

  • Develop and implement an internal communications strategy to enhance employee engagement. 
  • Manage internal newsletters, corporate events, and other employee-facing initiatives. 

5. Team Leadership: 

  • Manage and inspire a team of 2-3 professionals, fostering collaboration and performance excellence. 
  • Build departmental credibility and serve as a go-to expert for communications & Marketing advice across the organisation. 

6. Event Management: 

  • Plan and execute corporate events, trade shows, and conferences to support business development and engagement goals. 

7. Stakeholder Engagement: 

  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams, senior leaders, and external stakeholders to align on communication objectives. 
  • Tailor messaging and approaches to resonate with diverse personalities and organisational levels

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven track record in a senior communications/marketing role, preferably within the engineering, manufacturing, or technology sectors. 
  • Hands-On Approach: Passionate about execution; enjoys rolling up their sleeves to deliver impactful results without over-reliance on external agencies. 
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and implement forward-thinking communications and marketing strategies. 
  • Brand Management: Experience in rebranding and ensuring brand consistency across multiple platforms, business units and initiatives. 
  • Event Management: Demonstrated success in planning and executing corporate events, trade shows, or similar activities. 
  • Digital Savvy: Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools, analytics, and social media strategies. 
  • Leadership: Strong interpersonal skills to manage, mentor, and motivate a small team. 
  • Adaptability: Nimble and resourceful, capable of handling diverse challenges and personalities within a fast-paced environment.
