Actemium M&E, part of VINCI Energies, delivers safe, sustainable and innovative mechanical and electrical engineering solutions to industrial and blue-chip customers across the UK. We are looking for a proactive and driven Senior SHEQ Advisor / SHEQ Manager to support our panel-building businesses and help strengthen our culture of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing engineering business where you'll work closely with the Head of SHEQ, supporting operational teams, driving continuous improvement and helping to shape SHEQ performance across multiple business units.

Whether you're already operating at management level or looking to progress into a broader leadership role, we'll provide the support, exposure and development opportunities to help you achieve your career goals.

The Role

As part of our SHEQ team, you'll play a key role in maintaining compliance, promoting best practice and supporting a positive SHEQ culture across the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and maintaining SHEQ management systems aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

  • Conducting workplace inspections, audits and compliance reviews.

  • Investigating incidents, near misses and non-conformities, identifying root causes and supporting corrective actions.

  • Working closely with operational and project teams to embed SHEQ best practice.

  • Reviewing and supporting the preparation of risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments and quality documentation.

  • Assisting with SHEQ training, inductions, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.

  • Monitoring corrective actions and supporting continual improvement initiatives.

  • Analysing SHEQ data and contributing to management reporting.

  • Promoting a positive safety culture and sharing lessons learned across the business.

  • Supporting initiatives that improve safety, environmental and quality performance throughout the organisation.

About You

We're interested in hearing from candidates at different stages of their SHEQ career. You may already be an established SHEQ Manager or a Senior SHEQ Advisor looking for the opportunity to progress further.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • SHEQ experience within engineering, manufacturing, construction, utilities or a similar operational environment.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, ideally with Internal Auditor competencies.

  • NEBOSH General Certificate, with ambitions to progress towards Diploma or Degree-level qualifications.

  • Tech IOSH membership, with ambitions to achieve or already be working towards Cert IOSH.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A proactive approach to driving continuous improvement.

  • Willingness to travel to operational sites as required, including occasional overnight stays.

  • Direct support and mentoring from the Head of SHEQ.

  • Opportunities to lead and contribute to business-wide improvement initiatives.

  • Clear progression opportunities towards senior SHEQ leadership.

  • A collaborative, supportive and professional working environment.

  • A competitive salary and benefits package including car allowance, pension and health cashback plan, company workwear and PPE.
