- Travel: site visits to Hinkley Point roughly 4 times per year
- Hybrid working: 3 days in the office per week (possibility to increase remote working depending on individuals ability)
- Staff Salary: up to £40,000 (depending on experience)
- Contract Rate (Umbrella): up to £45/hr (depending on experience)

Supporting one of our key clients we are looking for Configuration Engineers to support the Technical Integration Branch of Plant Integration in coordinating Hinkley Point C activities within the configuration management process. This will involve providing technical assistance and managing activities so that processes are properly, adequately, and efficiently implemented across the project.
Responsibilities
As the Configuration Engineer you will also be responsible for:
- Provide professional, high quality engineering support to the HPC Project to ensure that the proposed design is compliant with UK regulations and context.
- Situated in the team who is the preferred point of contact within HPC for configuration management processes. In particular, the technical point of contact for Engineering Managers and Design Entities for all configuration management topics.
- Coordinates the contributions from HPC stakeholders to the progression of configuration management processes including resolution of Open Points, Design Changes, referential changes, and progressing agreements on Technical Interface attributes.
- Responsible for controlling, supporting, overall steering and monitoring of the end-to-end configuration activities.
- Involved in Design Handovers to Nuclear New Build teams to ensure configuration control is maintained.
Qualification & Experience
To be considered for the Configuration Engineer role you should have most of the following:
Essential
- Degree in a relevant science or engineering subject.
- Experience of process development and application within engineering projects.
- Understanding of equipment engineering requirements.
- Knowledge of design processes and activities related to Nuclear Industry.
- Great communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of budget and schedule management.
- Understanding of analysis tools and methods, combined with the ability to apply them.
- Demonstrate ownership of a process and demonstrate proactivity in resolving Configuration Management issues.
- Analysis of technical documents including summarising relevant issues.
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvements to procedures, processes and/or systems.
- UK drivers licence.
Desirable
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
- Experience within the Nuclear Industry.
- Understanding of quality arrangements required and associated with nuclear plant construction.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements.
- Knowledge of power station design.
- Knowledge of French.
