Our Technical Services & Consultancy business unit is looking for a Design Coordinator to support one of our key clients. Under the guidance of the Contract Engineer Lead, you will support a variety of stakeholders with Piping Contracts for Hinkley Point.

As the Open Point/Design Change Coordinator you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying open points and modifications and seeing them through to closure.
  • Ensuring interfaces (technical, cost, schedule) are identified.
  • Verify that modifications are assigned to the correct reference configuration and oversee the progress of technical instruction for modifications.
  • Fast track piping Open Point/Design Change instruction from opening to closure.
  • Initiating proactive design with the team collaborator and key project stakeholders.
  • Defining Open Point/Design Change contributors list and defining comprehensive and valuable optioneering for the projects.
  • Collecting, chasing & collating of contributions in the data base.
  • Supporting contract team members in managing deliverables consistently.


To be considered for the Design Coordinator role you should have the following:

  • Mechanical engineering background.
  • Experience in Piping Design preferably in the nuclear industry.
  • Good understanding of systems/piping design stages such as basic, detailed & execution design.
  • Analytical minded and good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of RCC-M code, ASME and EN standards (desirable).
  • Experience in change management ideally in a multidiscipline and complex engineering project (desirable).
