Senior Contracts Engineer

Actemium E‑Mobility is seeking a Senior Contracts Engineer to join our growing team.   Here in E-Mobility we provide an end-to-end solution for the deployment of EV Charging Infrastructure in support of investors & operators aiming to deliver a first-class customer experience with safety excellence at the very core, but it’s our talented and committed people who make it happen.

In this role you will manage commercial and contractual aspects of E‑mobility projects, working closely with other engineers, clients and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification and within budget. You will provide commercial leadership, mitigate contractual risk and support business growth by maintaining strong client relationships and delivering high standards of commercial governance.

Senior Contracts Engineer – Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full delivery of EV charging infrastructure projects from tender through to completion.

  • Oversee LV/HV (11/33kV) electrical works, civil construction, charger installation, grid connection and commissioning activities.

  • Develop and manage project programmes, resource planning, procurement schedules and delivery workflows.

  • Manage project teams including engineers, site managers, supervisors and subcontractors, ensuring work meets scope and technical standards.

  • Control project finances including budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, variations and commercial risk management.

  • Review and approve drawings, designs, RAMS and commissioning plans, ensuring compliance with grid and industry requirements.

  • Liaise with DNOs/IDNOs, design partners and specialist suppliers throughout project lifecycle.

  • Ensure compliance with CDM 2015, safety policies and quality standards; conduct site audits and maintain accurate project documentation.

  • Act as primary client and stakeholder contact, leading progress meetings and providing clear reporting.

  • Build strong working relationships to support successful delivery and future business opportunities.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or Contracts Engineer within electrical contracting, utilities, or HV/LV infrastructure.

  • Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and BS7671.

  • Experience delivering LV/HV distribution networks, substations, and civil infrastructure.

  • Experience delivering EV charging, renewable energy, or grid‑connected projects.

  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, civil layouts, and technical specs.

  • Strong commercial awareness with budget and contract management experience.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

  • Strong IT skills and confidence working with business software and digital systems.

  • Competent with IT tools, communication platforms, data entry, and basic troubleshooting.

  • Full UK driving licence.


Desirable Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience working with DNO/ICP frameworks or delivering contestable works.

  • Knowledge of EV charger OEM technologies and infrastructure design.

  • Time‑served apprenticeship or relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).

  • SMSTS, IOSH, or LV/HV authorisation.

  • Valid ECS/CSCS Card.
