Offshore Pre-commissioning Representative

Responsibilities

  • Support the SURF Pre‑commissioning Lead in resolving technical issues, anticipating operational challenges, identifying optimization opportunities, and monitoring schedule performance.

  • Verify availability and readiness of all temporary equipment, consumables, fluids, and spare parts required for pre‑commissioning operations.

  • Monitor and track anomalies, non‑conformities, and punch items raised by the Contractor, ensuring timely follow‑up and closure.

  • Participate in hazard assessments, SIMOPS planning, and emergency preparedness activities led by the Contractor.

  • Coordinate closely with the onshore SURF Installation/Pre‑commissioning team to support vessel mobilization, operational readiness, and offshore execution planning.

  • Follow up daily offshore pre‑commissioning progress, highlight risks or deviations impacting safety or schedule, and provide objective reporting to SURF Package Management.

  • Identify critical activities and potential bottlenecks, proposing corrective actions to maintain progress and quality performance.

  • Witness and verify that all pre‑commissioning activities are executed in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, and industry best practices.

  • Interface with Field Operations teams to develop SIMOPS strategies, shutdown scopes, and vessel positioning requirements for pipelines, cables, and risers pre‑commissioning.

  • Act as the Company’s primary pre‑commissioning representative onboard the SURF Contractor vessel, overseeing day‑to‑day operations and ensuring alignment with approved procedures and project specifications.

  • Lead and manage the onboard pre‑commissioning team, ensuring high performance, technical competency, and adherence to project objectives.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent

  • At least 15 years’ experience in the offshore oil & gas project with minimum 10 years’ experience in offshore precommissioning activities

  • At least 15 years’ experience within large multinational taskforce team environment.

  • Experience in conventional offshore facilities at EPCI stage is preferred.

  • Strong precommissioning engineering background

  • Track records of offshore attendance during Subsea Installation/ Precommissioning [Pipeline, Cable, Spool, Riser].

  • Experience of subsea Installation/Precommissioning in shallow water.

  • Language: Fluent in English.

  • Computer literate.

  • Strong leadership skills and good communication skills.

  • Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.

  • H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET trainings.

  • Familiar with Total Energies General Specifications, CMS standards, and relevant international codes and standards
