Key Responsibilities – Busbar Fabrication & Assembly
Measure, cut, bend, punch and assemble busbars for low‑ and medium‑voltage switchgear.
Interpret engineering drawings, schematics and work instructions to produce accurate, high‑quality assemblies.
Operate fabrication machinery (cutters, punches, benders) and hand tools, ensuring safe and efficient working practices.
Form busbars to precise dimensions, tolerances and technical specifications.
Install insulation, fixings and supports to meet all electrical and mechanical safety standards.
Collaborate closely with design engineers, panel builders and quality teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Support quality checks, compliance activities and assist with inspection, testing and commissioning where required.
Maintain excellent health & safety and environmental practices throughout all work.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience in busbar fabrication, panel building or similar industrial electrical assembly.
Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings and layout diagrams.
Skilled in workshop tools and machinery: cutting, punching, bending, drilling, tapping and general assembly.
Understanding of electrical safety, insulation methods and busbar system requirements.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing safe, reliable and high‑quality work.
Good communicator and team player, able to collaborate effectively and follow structured processes.
Desirable Skills – Switchgear & Electrical Fabrication
Apprenticeship or recognised qualification in electrical engineering, fabrication or a related discipline.
Knowledge of current industry standards for switchgear, busbar systems and power distribution panels.
Experience supporting continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing initiatives.
