Senior BI (Business Intelligence) Specialist F/M
11/12/2025OMA operates 13 international airports in northern and central Mexico: Monterrey, Mexico’s 2nd largest business and industrial metropolis; the tourist destinations Acapulco, Mazatlán, and Zihuatanejo; the regional centers Chihuahua, Culiacán, Durango, San Luís Potosí, Tampico, Torreón and Zacatecas; and the border cities Ciudad Juárez and Reynosa.
We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist (F/M) responsible for analyzing, transforming, and utilizing information to generate actionable proposals that support strategic decision-making. This role involves leading digital transformation, managing the data ecosystem, developing executive dashboards in Power BI, automating processes in Python, and collaborating with various departments, with a special focus on the needs of our Commercial areas.
In this position, the main responsibilities will be :
Data Analysis and Transformation
• Collect, clean, and transform data from various internal and external sources.
• Identify patterns, trends, and improvement opportunities through statistical analysis and data
mining techniques.
• Validate the quality and consistency of data integrated into the corporate Data Lake.
• Ensure the flow of information to various analysis platforms.
BI Solution Development
• Design and implement business intelligence solutions using Power BI (and other BI tools if
necessary).
• Create efficient dimensional data models for operational and strategic analysis.
• Automate processes and transformations using Python.
Report, Dashboard, and Visualization Creation
• Design and develop interactive reports and dashboards to facilitate decision-making.
• Ensure reports are intuitive, visually appealing, and aligned with business needs.
• Optimize the structure and performance of existing dashboards.
• Project management for digitalization of various executive and operational reports.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Commercial, Finance, Operations, and IT teams to translate needs into BI
solutions.
• Collaborate with analysts, data engineers, and developers on BI and automation projects.
• Train key users on developed reports and tools.
• Act as the primary liaison on data-related topics for international corporate headquarters
team.
Continuous Optimization and Data Ecosystem Support
• Operate and provide support for the implemented corporate Data Lake.
• Monitor data loads, validate information, and follow up on incidents.
• Improve pipelines, SQL queries, and data models.
• Contribute to data governance initiatives, documentation, cataloging, and KPI standardization.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Systems, Data Science, Business, or related fields.
- Specialization or certification in Data Science or Big Data.
2 to 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence (BI) or data analysis. - Advanced proficiency in Power BI (DAX, modeling, Power Query).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Intermediate experience in Python (pandas, automation, scripts). - Intermediate-advanced SQL skills.
- Knowledge of ETL processes, data quality, and dimensional modeling.
- Experience with JIRA or other project management tools.
- Experience with Data Lakes or Data Warehouses (BigQuery preferred).
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Experience in the consumer industry, such as retail and restaurants (preferred).
- Curiosity to explore data and solve challenges within the Commercial Management area.
