Senior Community Engagement Advisor

1/3/2026

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Community Engagement Advisor to lead stakeholder and community engagement for a major infrastructure initiative in Western Sydney.

This pivotal role will shape and deliver engagement strategies that support the successful planning and delivery of a large-scale project. Working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders, you will provide expert advice, manage complex relationships, and ensure consultation activities are transparent, inclusive and outcomes focused.

About Seymour Whyte:

We are a successful civil contracting business that has been operating in Australia for over 35 years. With the agility and personal connection of a Tier 2, yet the expertise of a Tier 1, and the enhanced resources of one of the largest, world-class construction companies, VINCI, our employees and clients get the best of three worlds.

As a progressive, leading civil engineering firm built on the strong foundations of our unique history, we engage, enable and empower our people to be better. With you, we are altogether stronger, in building the future we want.

About the Role:

  • Develop and deliver community and stakeholder engagement plans and high‑quality communication materials
  • Engage with stakeholders and community members through multiple channels and maintain accurate records
  • Build strong on‑site relationships and provide guidance on engagement issues and complaints
  • Identify community and stakeholder risks and help minimise impacts
  • Promote organisational values and embed a strong customer‑focused culture
  • Contribute to reporting, continuous improvement and positive organisational reputation

About you:

  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in community and stakeholder engagement, with knowledge of or training in IAP2 principles
  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, sustainability, environmental management, urban planning, engineering or related social sciences
  • Demonstrated experience working on infrastructure projects, ideally during construction or delivery phases
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational abilities with strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking capability
  • Proactive, positive mindset with a commitment to ongoing learning and improvement
  • Full driver’s licence, with regular travel to sites across Western Sydney required

Company Benefits:

  • Health & Wellbeing – discounted health insurance, seasonal vaccinations, wellness discounts, fertility benefit and employee assistance program (EAP).
  • Time for life / Work life balance – birthday leave, purchased leave program, paid parental leave and flexible work arrangements.
  • Financial wellbeing – competitive remuneration, annual performance bonuses, salary continuance insurance and employee share program.
  • Career development – training, mentoring programs, and leadership development program.

Many of our projects are not accessible via public transport and require travel between and within active construction sites. As a result, a current Driver’s Licence and the ability to drive on site are essential.

Seymour Whyte is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds, including veterans. Our commitment to an equitable construction industry extends to an inclusive culture that embraces our differences and gives everyone the opportunity to grow and be equally valued. We're unified in our direction toward having a workplace that is balanced and fair for all.

Warning to applicants about false job offers and fraudulent proposals

The VINCI group wishes to warn applicants about the online publication of false job offers for contracts abroad in the name of VINCI group companies. The authors of these offers fraudulently use the corporate names, brands and logos of VINCI group companies to deceive applicants, inducing them to reveal personal information and to pay money to obtain alleged services. Under no circumstances do VINCI group companies ask for candidates' bank details or any payment of money as part of their recruitment process. We therefore strongly recommend that applicants check the authenticity of job offers before responding to them.
