Safety Coordinator VIE H/F F/H
17/12/2024The Hampton Roads Connector Partners JV (HRCP) consisting of VINCI Construction, Dragados, and Flatiron has been selected to construct the $3.3BN Design Build project –the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
The project scope across a 9-mile section of the I-64 will include: a new 3.5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I-64 in each direction. The twin 45 diameter 1.5-mile tunnels will be bored by TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer compliance with the safety program and lead accident prevention efforts to ensure company and project safety goals are met
Conduct site inspections of project work areas and equipment
Develop, organize, and implement safety related programs that meet company safety standards
Assist the investigation of accidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective /preventive measures
Perform and document jobsite inspections and audits with a focus on hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors
Coordinate and conduct safety meetings/training programs to ensure effective communication amongst new and existing employees
Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
Carry out any other assigned tasks given by the Area Safety Manager or Area Project Manager
Bachelor’s degree in Safety from an accredited institution or 1 year experience as a safety professional in the construction industry
Fluent in english
