Expression of Interest: HSEQ Administrator – Civil Engineering Project (Gold Coast)

Join the Seymour Whyte team on a major civil engineering project on the Gold Coast as an HSEQ Administrator. We are looking for an organised and proactive individual to play a vital role in ensuring efficient on-site operations and fostering effective communication between staff, clients, suppliers, and contractors. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to support and strengthen our HSEQ team.

We are a successful civil contracting business who has been operating in Australia for over 35 years. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Project HSEQ Team.
  • Enter, scan, and file safety-related data, and assist with monthly reports and KPI tracking.
  • Ensure all version-controlled documents are distributed to all required parties needing to use the documents
  • Manage induction records, including data entry of worker competencies and filing.
  • Coordinate training events, including bookings, materials, and record-keeping.
  • Maintain HSEQ audit schedules and ensure accurate report filing.
  • Update policies, certifications, and registrations (e.g., WorkCover).
  • Act as the key contact for the document control system including the provision of induction, assistance and training in the document control system.
  • Inform the Project Quality Manager / Project Manager of any significant event or issues that will or may impact on project delivery, particularly in relation to document management and handover.
  • Assist with managing equipment calibration records and safety equipment procurement.
  • Maintain the ChemWatch SDS register and plant/equipment register.
  • Assist with HSEQ responses to corporate inquiries, incidents, and audits.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as filing and scanning project records.
  • Attend site inspections and collaborate with HSEQ representatives as required.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail.
  • Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Driver’s licence and availability to travel to project sites.
  • Experience in the construction industry and HSEQ is a plus.

Many of our projects are located in regional areas, therefore all applicants must hold a current Driver’s Licence and have their own transport.
