Senior Environmental Advisor

About the role:
- Provide onsite environmental support, including training, mentoring, community engagement, inspections, monitoring, and auditing to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
- Develop and implement the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), Sub-plans, and Environmental Work Method Statements, and oversee environmental resource planning for the project.
- Supervise the implementation of environmental controls, conduct audits, and ensure effective environmental management practices throughout the construction phase.
- Advise and report to the Project Manager and National Environment Manager on environmental performance and assist with maintaining external certifications and tender inputs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders, managing environmental training, inductions, and community engagement initiatives.
The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering/Science and at least five years of experience in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of safety and environmental legislation, Australian Standards, industry codes, and Quality Assurance, including a thorough understanding of the Company Quality Plan and duty of care responsibilities.
- Completed training in Blue Books 1 & 2D and Erosion and Sedimentation Control, with a solid understanding of project scope, contractual procedures, and change management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Current C-Class Driver’s licence.
