We are looking for an Environmental officer VIE (F/M) who will join the dynamic project management team to drive environmental performance across our operations. Expect a diversified and dynamic VIE!
What can you expect as an Environmental Officer @Menard Canada ?
As an Environmental Officer for Menard Canada, you will play a pivotal role in developing a strategy for Menard Canada to achieve VINCI objectives.
Your key responsibilities include:
Environmental KPI Management and Reporting:
- Track and analyze environmental KPIs to measure progress.
- Report environmental performance to head office.
- Develop tools to streamline environmental reporting processes.
Project Management and Team Leadership:
- Lead and coordinate Team Act and Team Track in implementing sustainability initiatives.
- Organize and monitor local environmental actions (one per branch per year).
Strategy Development and Partnership Proposals:
- Propose partnerships to develop the company’s wide HVO fuel strategy.
- Develop strategies to help Canada achieve the company’s environmental targets.
- Identify incentives to engage the Company further on environmental topics.
- Identify relevant subjects to be presented for the Environment Awards.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
- Participate in meetings with environmental ambassadors from across the group.
- Strengthen relationships with the U.S. counterparts and other stakeholders.
- Ensure the company submits engaging topics for environmental awards.
Savings Tracking and Staff Engagement:
- Track and report on savings generated from environmental actions.
- Persuade reluctant staff members of the benefits of environmental initiatives.
Technical Expertise and Paper Contributions:
- Propose topics for environmental technical papers to contribute to industry discussions.
What about you?
You’ll be a great fit if:
- You are an engineering school or university graduate, with a degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- You have a strong understanding of environmental regulations and standards, particularly ISO14001.
A first experience in KPI reporting, project management and stakeholders engagement is a plus. - You’re looking for assignments that give you a sense of responsibility and high autonomy.
- You can define yourself through a methodical and analytical mind, and strong interpersonal skills such as open-mindedness, curiosity, and most of all, a tenacious can-do attitude!
- You’re looking forward to being part of a team where you’ll be keen to learn and face new challenges together.
- You show an international mindset which will allow you to enjoy what Canada can offer to the fullest.
- You speak fluent English.
- You have your driving license.
NB: the position will be based out of the Greater Toronto Area.
Travels between Menard Canada branches may be needed to meet with the local teams.
Quick Reminder about the VIE program:
The VIE program requires you to:
- Be a European citizen aged between 18 and 28 on the date of registration, whatever training level.
- Be a graduate student, with a fluent level in English.
- Have never done any V.I.E. in the past.
- Not have worked previously in the host country.
