Role: Senior Software Controls Systems Engineer 

Location: Oundle, Peterborough  

Hours: 37,5hrs per week + overtime + International travel allowance 

Salary Range: £50,000 - £55,000 (Dependent on experience)

About the role

Due to business growth and client demand, Eltek Systems are looking for a Senior Software Controls Systems Engineer to join our expanding team. As a Senior Software Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing and implementing robust software solutions for our key clients.

Within this role you will asked to travel internationally, predominantly to assist and commission different projects, around the world for our clients. In total this will be around 30% of working year with us. 

Main Responsibilities:

• Actively participates in the whole life cycle of delivering projects, from start to finish.
• Foster great relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• Produce design and test documentation.
• Develop PLC, HMI and SCADA software.
• Perform testing with customers.
• Carry out on-site commissioning.
• Compile training manuals and run customer training sessions.

The Person

• Proficiency in PLC programming and industrial automation protocols (e.g. Rockwell or Siemens).
• Proven experience in software development, with expertise in languages such as C++, Java, or Python.
• Good understanding of setting up, commissioning, and fault finding of industrial networks (EthernetIP, Profibus, ProfiNet, Ethernet) preferred, but not essential.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
