OFFSHORE/MARINE COORDINATOR required by our Client, an Oil and Gas Operator, to be assigned on a Contract basis, located in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Offshore Coordination is a key support function to site management, enabling safe transit and access to the assets to perform operations and maintenance.
- The Offshore Coordinator is responsible for executing the vessel and helicopter movements outlined in the plans and schedules delivered by site or hub Planning/Scheduling functions.
- Offshore Coordination focuses on vessel tracking, people tracking and covers operational control under safe systems of work (UK specific).
- Each Offshore Coordinator is responsible for maintaining an understanding of the Company Asset Integrity Management policy and strategy, and for carrying out any relevant resultant tasks.
- Emergency response coordination: respond to radio communications and escalate to incident coordinator / second line emergency response as appropriate.
- Vessel / helicopter traffic control as per agreed coordination protocols.
- UK specific: Act as Operational Controller under the safe-system-of-work.
- Maintain competence required for Operational Control role (UK specific).
- People, vessel, and communications tracking (communications log or automatic people/vessel tracking system).
- Manage WTG access restrictions (to be kept up-to-date and receive direction on these from Planning/Scheduling function).
- Ensure that all vessel allocations and unforeseen changes to the daily plan/schedule optimize the efficient use of the vessels available.
- Operate the offshore management system ensuring all offshore personnel have the correct certification and the creation of pax lists if required by site/regional management.
- Input data into Wind Farm Reporter (or equivalent system) on a real-time basis.
- Provide weather forecasting and observation system data and interpret to provide advice and recommendations (such as sailing period detail) to planning/scheduling/management functions.
- Liaise with local stakeholders (i.e., marine/port authorities), in relation to flood gates, lock gates, lock bookings, day-to-day items that may affect the plan/schedule.
- Ensure notices are issued to mariners and local operators (i.e., other wind farms, local fishermen, pilot office etc.).
- Manage relationship on a day-to-day basis with weather data and observation system providers (for example, get problems with data or sources of data resolved).
- In conjunction with planning/scheduling function, review vessel performance data (provided through coordination with operations logistics) to ensure that efficient planning is delivering desired performance, for example, fuel consumption. Feed findings to site/regional management As directed by site/regional management, record various operational metrics.
- Report hazardous observations and incidents in the HSE management system.
- Attend training on HSE management systems.
- Ensure the validity of personal safety certificates and proactively maintain the competence level required for the role safe and effective transportation to and from WTG.
- Provide Operational Control under safe system of work (as required).
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- IT literate (Microsoft Office package etc.)
- Excellent communication skills
- An awareness of safe systems of work
- Marine coordination/control experience
- Experience with the system SAP
- Previous offshore industry experience
- Knowledge of incident control
- Radio operations experience
