Senior Project Engineer - Civils & 3 Waters M/F

As our project portfolio continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of major heavy civil and Three Waters projects.

The Opportunity
As a Senior Project Engineer, based in Invercargill, you will provide technical leadership and project delivery expertise across a range of civil infrastructure projects. Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, clients, and subcontractors, you'll be responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
You'll be a key contributor to project planning, construction methodology, stakeholder management, and the development of project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate engineering activities across project delivery teams
- Develop and manage construction methodologies, work packs, and temporary works requirements
- Monitor project progress, costs, productivity, and programme performance
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers to achieve project objectives
- Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, and operational risks
- Ensure compliance with contractual, quality, environmental, and safety requirements
- Support project planning, procurement, and resource allocation activities
- Mentor and develop Project Engineers, Site Engineers, and graduate team members
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- Minimum 8+ years' experience delivering civil infrastructure projects
- Proven experience in heavy civil construction including earthworks, roads
- Strong experience delivering Three Waters projects, including water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure
- Demonstrated success managing project programmes, budgets, subcontractors, and technical delivery
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and risk management
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Qualifications
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered Professional Engineer status (or working towards) is advantageous
